My suggested route map for the top things to do in Seattle!
While many of these things are “touristy”, I think every city deserves a bit of discovery on many levels. After all, popular attractions are visited often for a reason! Consider these things the must-dos, as they are described in this post. After doing them, THEN you come back to delve a bit deeper! And be sure to visit me, because I plan to create a more off-the-beaten-path Seattle guide!
Most people stay in or near downtown when they first visit Seattle, so I’ve created a route map that you can follow in order, starting from downtown. I recommend taking an Uber or even public transportation to any of these places. You won’t need and probably won’t want a car if you’re staying downtown! Depending on exactly where you’re staying, you may even be able to walk.
Keep in mind that you won’t be able to do ALL of these things in one day! This is more or less a visual guide to show you where things are relative to each other, so that you can plan your days accordingly. Though all of these sites are easily within 20 minutes of downtown (just avoid rush hour).
I suggest visiting Seattle over the course of at least 3 days so that you can do all of the things routed on the map:
- Day 1 – Visit routes 1-3
- Day 2 – Visit routes 4-9
- Day 3 – Visit routes 10-11
Tackling 4-9 in one day may be tiring, so adding a day is recommended. And, of course, you’ll want to add even more time to visit areas outside of the city as well as my off-the-beaten-path suggestions (coming soon!). ;)
