5 photos to inspire you to travel to Malta

5 Photos Friday!

I like the idea of inspiring people to travel through photography, and I have plenty of inspiring photos from my travels. 5 photos Friday is a way for me to collect a few nice photos and share them under one travel relevant topic, via a short and sweet blog post. You can look forward to it every Friday! At least that’s the plan!

5 photos to inspire you to travel to Malta

My own travel to Malta was so many years ago, long before I really had any decent photography skills. Yet, the inspiring city of Valletta still spoke to me and I was able to capture some decent enough photos of the place. It’s a gorgeous city, made up of impressive sandstone structures, baroque palaces, and ruined forts. Valletta is one of the many Mediterranean port cities that I visited during my cruise ship days, but it remains one of my favorite places of all time. I hope to return some day to explore the city more and see what other treasures the island of Malta holds.

  • Rachel - Yes, I’ve been there twice for work-related things and once on a family vacation. It’s lovely, and people are so friendly! The only thing that annoyed me was in the summer, when the English schools are in session. Then there are hordes of over-excited teenagers everywhere!ReplyCancel

    • traciehowe - Oh nice! I didn’t encounter any teenagers, but would agree that they are annoying. Haha! ;)ReplyCancel

  • Sally - I love the architecture! These pictures do make me want to go! I went to Malta as a cild but have yet to re visit! I have heard in the summer they do some live music festivals where you can camp. I may give that a try!ReplyCancel

    • traciehowe - I didn’t know about the music festivals. It seems like a lovely place to enjoy camping and music!ReplyCancel

  • Natalie Deduck - You didn’t have photography skills during that trip to Malta? Seriously?
The pics are beautiful! Malta always has been in my travel dreams, but until now we didn’t manage to go there. Your pictures just prove me that I should go there soon!

  • Sandrine - Your pics show the contrast between the verticality of the ancient buildings and the sea, they’re beautiful. The clash between the liquid sea and the solid land, this is poetic.ReplyCancel

  • Intrepid Design - We love the 4th photograph of the rough sea below Valletta’s bastions. It’s one walk we love to recommend our guests do. One way to access it through the steps in front of the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta.ReplyCancel
